New Watch Managers
Widespread rumor is that four floor supervisors will be promoted to Watch Manager, possibly as soon as September. We know of 6 supervisors who have interviewed and not many more than six, who actively work the Ops Floor, are "veterans."
Based on past practice, we move to say that at least half of the promotions will go to supervisors who are not active on the Ops Floor. Are the promotions going to be based on reputation for efficiency and competence? Political favor? Cronyism? Or will they be based solely on the qualifications/resume review and interview process, which we know for Chicago can be nothing more than a wink and a handshake?

Speaking of rumors , any truth in ths one: They (da mayor, city hall, av3, mk , or mr/ms xxx) are seeking to hire from outside of the oemc to fill the watch mgr positions!
Would you be surprised? Just another insult to injury.
The pussies running the show are scared of any person with a free thought or intellect. Therefore they could weed through people and find mind-numbingly yes men that can play follow the dimwit leader.
The current pool of floor supervisors are in the know for the most part, they would be a threat to the kingdom of clowns, they know what needs to be fixed, most have done our job and those who haven't were the police. Alot of us feel there are some pretty decent people in the pool for wm.
Therefore we cannot pick any of them as that might raise our moral and spirit.
At least one female i've heard rumors of getting promoted is just as bad as "M". Give her a little more power and you know what will hit the fan. Just like when "M" was promoted.

But if E or C, they both worked their butts off as dispatchers and hopefully will show empathy for the good workers who are most of the workforce.
I seriously doubt any bit of power could possibly escalate to the extreme out of control freak level that the special one has reached.
It's one thing to have power
but losing the control over the power is what counts.
In all honesty, the supervisors we have now are for the most part very deserving. But there are 2 in particular I can think of, who might technically know what they're doing, but have absolutely no business being supervisors. One got to become a supervisor by being so far up someone's ass it's rediculous. And the other one by being so far up the first supervisor's ass that I just mentioned, he/she just went along for the ride. It was blatant brown-nosing, and these 2 are a couple of morons. God please don't let these idiots be considered for the w/m position!!!!
E and C might have worked their butts off as dispatchers, but since they have been "off the floor" they certainly have become M's puppets. It seems like they forgot what it was like to be on the floor.
What's the other M male, going to be like if he makes wm? Used to be a great guy, who knows what happened to him over the years.
The dispatchers that were just promoted last year are not eligible for w/m.
plus..no i was not referring to K. I actually think she does a decent job. I was referring to C but since you brought E into it, I'll address her. She is a gossiping butt kisser.
I hear that CO and EH both got rejection letters and MD got his promotion letter. Rumor has it that BD, CT and HC are the other three. Will be interesting to see who goes where and who stays in their day time jobs. Rumor also has it that "M" is being slowly pushed out and might just end up back on the operations floor and RS will take her place......wont that be wonderful.
