Hallelujah

Yesterday marked the end of an era. "Our Fearless Leader" has been moved across the hall, replaced by a former watch manager, and shall bother us minimally, if at all anymore. The title of that position is no longer "Acting Deputy Director," it is now simply Deputy Director of Police Dispatch Operations. No "Acting" capacity.

We predicted this change months ago, and are glad to see it finally became reality. Maybe now we won't get ramrodded by the office "around the corner."

We wish the best to our new Deputy Director, and we hope that he will make a lot of strides in righting the multitude of wrongs and chaotic decisions that stemmed from his predecessor. That takes a lot of work, but he surely can't have our interests at heart any less than the "Fearless Leader" of the last three years.

We also hope that this change will allow administration to see at least a couple of things from the point-of-view of the working stiffs. We've forgotten what it was like to not have someone in the corner office who smiled in our faces and canned us to upper administration.

So who is going to be the full time 3rd watch secretary, if the current secretary follows the new deputy director around the corner (as she most likely will)???

Should be interesting to see the bit&* who fired the Corp Cadre a week before Christmas a couple years ago, now have to go over there and manage them after a handful of them were rehired to camera watch. I hope they chew her up and spit her out.

Snaps to 10:52 AM! Ain't that the truth? And also I agree with 2:33 AM, when are we having the biggest bash to celebrate the best thing that has happened in a long time! I say we get stupid drunk and praise the 4th floor for saving us all from the grief we could have had if SHE had made the deputy director for real instead of just the ACTING! Congrats to DD RS! We should all have a cold one in his honor!

What great news!! But lest you get too complacent and praise the 4th floor for this move, be assured that THEY allowed her to languish in that acting capacity for far too long, failed to check her when she was blatantly wrong, and were FORCED to finally act only when her total incompetence was no longer tolerable, even by city standards. Remember there are others still up there who are NO friends of ops--seriously.

5:43 PM,

....THEY allowed her to languish in that acting capacity for far too long....

(and they could send her to totally fuck-up which watch? remember, she is a watch manager, as compliments of a previous administration)

....failed to check her when she was blatantly wrong.....

(open your eyes. you are so wrong, and so stupid. look at the many signals they sent you)

....and were FORCED to finally act only when her total incompetence was no longer tolerable....

(forced? hardly. they could have easily made her. get your head out of your ass. no longer tolerable to who? they weren't suffering fool, just us. they cut us a big break, you are just too dumb to see it)

Remember there are others still up there who are NO friends of ops--seriously.

(i agree, but there are others that are looking to help us, you just cannot see the opportunity they just handed us. give it a chance or nothing will ever change)

(and for 6:47 PM, nothing will ever be good enough for you. You are a part of the cancerous tumor that will destroy us as a group. and before you say it, fuck you too)

I am still trying to absorb the fact that the czar is out of the office. Congratulations to whoever put the big Mylar balloon boot on her door, best laugh in a long time lmao!!!
Now I'm only scared that when I see her I'm going to bust out with a bit shit eating grin and ask her.. how's the new gig? then bust out laughing.
I know DAD can be a pain in the butt at times, but even he doesn't deserve to be locked in a room with her.

The comments here lead one to to conclude that is a sad and lonely group of people who apparently have no idea of what it takes to work in an envirnoment that promotes healthly communication, accountability, consistency and respect for one another.

I pray for your lost, lonely and seemingly angry and depressed souls. God help those on the other end of the phone who only called 911 becaused they thought the operator would care and provide service without judgement; with swift response to what the caller believes to be an emergency.

One would hope to see what your organization does as a team to stay together and work off the stress of the day, not to read this backstabbing, judgemental and just plan mean commentary.

Weight gain is a sign of anger turned inward. Unless this behavior is addressed there will be a serious incident within the organization.

Caring about the workforce comes in all forms, it is not for any member of public service to make a value judgement against a fellow public employee or anyone for that matter.
