We don't really need to add any commentary to this. You'd think we wrote the last sentence ourselves, but this is from a reader on 3rd Watch:

Said in RC today that if you are mandated to stay OT you will not be given a "pass," the "pass" doesnt exist anymore. If you are mandated and don't stay you will get a CI automatically.

Ah, just in time for summer.

You've been forewarned. You regulars know who you are.

Oh wow! First and foremost, You never hear 1st watch crying because our lunches got canceled out of roll call so that 3rd watch doesn't get mandated. This has happened more than once, so quit crying already, our 1st watch supv take pity on you guys.

Maybe this regime is just as dense as the old one, if that's possible. All of the problems with parking, staffing, and mandatory overtime can be solved by just bringing back the POWER WATCHES! If they don't know this or if they chose to ignore the obvious then they are no better than MK,

11:03 AM. they know it and they are trying, but MK dismantled it too well. A lot of departments and levels in and out of oemc have to be convinced and agree to it's return, and even then it will not be easy to get it going. you cannot just snap your fingers and have it done. BUT GIVE THE MAN A CHANCE.

Good Lord...

You already know who is going to be mandated, you keep a better list than management does. It is not just the 3rd watch that is always affected, days gets hung out to try too. Yeah 1st watch gets a play, but they were finally hit too (in December....but go figure) Stop blaming the floor supervisor for the inability of upper management to do their job and hire more PCO I AND II'S. That would put and end to all of this!

The fact that people may or may not maintain their own lists is hardly the point. I do not get paid nearly 75 grand to determine whose turn it is, the floor supervisors do. So now, because I know my turn is up I'm supposed to mosey on up to the front and interrupt the social club to say, "Oh Hello, just wanted to let you know since you havent gotten around to it yet that it's my turn to be mandated.Give me a Break. I wasn't blaming the floor supervisors for the lack of manpower, I'm blaming them for coming in late , taking too long to determine their manpower needs for the night and screwing around and waiting until 21:20 to even start asking for volunteers.

Zone 6 3rd/1st watch dispatchers are top notch! Thanks for all you do! On another note, please do not let marble mouth and his female partner fill in like they did on 3rd. watch thursday night. Had 8 1a jobs pending with 9 cars available (in a backlog). Just wouldn't give out jobs and had a real tough time following the radio traffic.

Same shit happens to us on 2nd watch...tapping your shoulder at 13:45 to tell you its your turn! One time , as we were walking off the floor, the supv blocked the door & held us till they got their act together!
