"Words of wisdom"

In the comments section, a reader questioned what our policy really is on not using real names, and why we removed one name and not another - and suggested we use our own "words of wisdom" on real-name posting. To answer what our rationale was this time:

1. It's our blog. We've had a few complaints, but only one other person has actually stepped up and put forth the effort to create and maintain another 911 blog. So we do as we see fit. 7 months and still going strong, with only two blogs for calltakers and dispatchers. We must both be doing something right.

2. In this case, one of the people mentioned by real name is facing criminal charges. The other isn't. Unless someone wants to start a fund for us in case of civil lawsuit...

Simple enough? We think so.

More posting later this week when "news" hits. In the meantime, open post. And keep it decent. We can't let the board run for a few days without mudslinging starting?

does the other ja have a union? if not, justice will be swift. no doubt, he will soon receive a lengthy suspension. and union or no union, if only cpd had arrested him for the powder, it would have been adios. way-to-go cpd. you did no favor for the oemc. if he really had it on him, he did not deserve a break. was ts with him? she needs to go too.

Just a thought...

The city announces a 12 million dollar pool for those discriminated against on the basis of patronage and the lack thereof.

Nothing against any particular supervisor past or present, but is there anyone out there who applied for and was denied a supervisor position who might want to try applying for pool money? I think it could at least be argued that the floor supervisor and watch manager positions were not properly ever made exempt, and the complete lack of accountability in the promotion process prima facie demonstrates that PCO IIs as a group are entitled to some of the money.

We been robbed!

Hey , get a class action suit started....I will gladly put my hand out. All of us in that 1st group were given randomly picked questions from their list, some of which were so long , by the time they finished reading it , you totally forgot what the hell it was they were asking.........I'm sure most would agree it was not a fair or proper hiring process!
