You might want to park legally.

Today is the official start of "parking enforcement" in the OEMC lot.

That means all you people who just don't feel like walking to the building from a parking space so you park along the curb by the police trailer, all you people who jam up the northeasternmost corner of the parking lot and would raise holy hell if your car got hit by someone trying to navigate the turn that is too narrow due to your laziness and selfishness, all you people who park in the main aisle because there's no available "legal" parking space?

Beware. Your car might be ticketed or gone when you go back to get in it. And no, there hasn't been a viable alternative/solution provided, because the "alternate lot" is rather small, and is right next to a "transient" motel.

As always, we have done our part to warn and remind you. That is all.

BY THE WAY: We posted on 25February2007 asking what 3rd Watch employees were huddled in the atrium to discuss after their tour of duty. They were discussing the parking situation and the upcoming "enforcement," and what can or should be done at PCO level.

Sgt Oakes was out there walking the lot, waving at someone writing down plate numbers, he's a very animated talker when you are watching him from the 3rd floor.
Here's a note to the tma who tried to cut me off in the lot to steal my spot from right in front of me. I will sue you and the city who owns the vehicle you are driving. I will make sure you do 30 days, for reckless endangerment with a city vehicle. Careful who you fuck with out in that lot, you never know who you are fucking with.

Cars with OHIO plates do not belong in our lot.
End of story.
Why can't Mr Oakes understand that?? This is a security issue as well. A Homeland Security Issue. The Honorable Star Blog wrote about our issue and summed it up quite nicely.

There are people working for the OEMC who are private contractors who are not required to live in the city...they might be the ones with Ohio plates. Remember the city is giving a lot of jobs to contractors instead of hiring people themselves. They are then governed by the rules of THEIR company and not the city.

It might also be someone borrowing their friends/uncles/cousins car and they live in Ohio....!!!!!!!!

The cars that don't belong in there are marked and unmarked squad cars, equipment trucks, any other city owned and/or operated vehicle. Let THEM all park in the auxiliary lot. Let the drivers of THOSE vehicles go over there and get them when they are needed.

One thing about having a 911 parking sticker is the information of the vehicle is documented. If you have are a contractor and have Ohio plates then fill out the form like the rest of us who already had background checks, and get a temporary pass or sticker for the window. I don't really care what state your plates are from, just as long as you have to follow the same rules as I do.
