Town Hall meeting next week.

For all those who've pestered us about a new post - here.

What concerns do you want to address at the meeting? Are you going to speak up? Please do, don't be like so many coworkers who bitch and moan among coworkers, but become deathly mute as soon as bosses are within earshot.

New open post

For all of your gripes not related to the Durkin Park fiasco.

For starters, you might want to discuss how a large chunk of 1st Watch didn't show up for work this past Saturday night. Although that fact was much to the dismay of 3rd Watch employees who got mandated in droves, after the previous Saturday's events, can you blame 1st Watch?

Good idea.

Hey blogmaster...instead of a thread bashing the hard working, dumped-upon supervisors, let's talk about our co-workers who expect to come to work and get paid for doing next to nothing (and several while on overtime!!!) They do nothing more than steal a paycheck, in my opinion.
We agree wholeheartedly. And even though we can just imagine how nasty this thread could get (we'll be monitoring it closely), here's another open post.

A post to vent your gripes about lazy ass, sleep-on-the-job-because-they-work-too-much-overtime, work-double-shifts-and-do-a-fraction-of-the-work, spend-more-time-walking-than-sitting-at-the-console coworkers.

This could yield one of the highest comment counts in the ten months this blog has in existence.

Imagine that

As of this writing, we're enjoying cool air conditioning, but we understand that 3rd Watch roll call got a little warm. Seems that a couple of supervisors' "people skills" (or lack thereof) were brought to the attention of the watch manager, and he plans to address said supervisors.

On that note, here's an open post to vent your gripes about problems or issues you've had with supervisors. No first and/or last names this time, please.

Positive experiences are welcome also, although they don't tend to be as amusing or entertaining.

"Words of wisdom"

In the comments section, a reader questioned what our policy really is on not using real names, and why we removed one name and not another - and suggested we use our own "words of wisdom" on real-name posting. To answer what our rationale was this time:

1. It's our blog. We've had a few complaints, but only one other person has actually stepped up and put forth the effort to create and maintain another 911 blog. So we do as we see fit. 7 months and still going strong, with only two blogs for calltakers and dispatchers. We must both be doing something right.

2. In this case, one of the people mentioned by real name is facing criminal charges. The other isn't. Unless someone wants to start a fund for us in case of civil lawsuit...

Simple enough? We think so.

More posting later this week when "news" hits. In the meantime, open post. And keep it decent. We can't let the board run for a few days without mudslinging starting?
