National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
We forgot it existed, but it's this week. The weeks's activities for OEC include:
This is the first time we can recall when much more than the hanging of a couple banners was done to mark the week. We do a lowly-regarded, thankless job that most people wouldn't want to do anymore after two weeks. And it's nice to get some recognition for the efforts that we put forth.Pizza and cake served in the atrium on Monday and Wednesday (which we hope will be followed up with workout room sessions); Casual business attire from Thursday through Saturday; And "Family Day" on Friday, from 1100 until 1500 hours. Bring your families to see all of the wonderful OEMC vehicles and facilities that we have no knowledge of.

New regime, new appreciation for our work efforts. Coincidence? I think not.
JA IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RECOGNITION, HE'S STILL A DISPATCHER AT HEART - - - -
the suits all gave $100 each. that's how the ntw celbration is financed. same as the picnic in '05. it was av's idea, not ja's.
Not to be a whiner (who am I kidding?) but for real give me the old banner and a new chair! How about turning the lights on for a day on the ops floor!?
Save your pizza and ice cream social. If the brass feels the need to donate $100 bucks, give it to St Judes Childrens Hospital.
I can't imagine anything more boring if you were a kid than a trip to oecland. Maybe we can turn on the 40ft tv screens and show Spongebob Square Pants, or let them play in the pod room where they can watch Niclodeon on 40 screens at once (not like that's never been done before)
On furlo, will miss all the hoopla , but do look forward to my new OEMC pin!
Cant wait til Family Day on Friday, so when 3rd watch comes in..... there'll be NO place to park again !
