Speaking of Executive Directors,

When the hell are we actually going to get one who knows or cares to find out exactly what we do? Maybe much of police brass has forgotten what it's like to be a PO on the street, but at least they - okay, more than half of them - actually were POs on the street before. And look at the problems they have on the other side of the radio from bosses who've "forgotten where they came from." At least there are ranks that they came from to forget. We're just slapped with E.D. after another with no clue. And each one seems to be farther removed from our reality than the last.

Problem is, these people have degrees (we believe, or so it's claimed), and they've majored in business administration or basket-weaving and such, but have never put on a headset to talk to a PO or a citizen.

Oh, what are we thinking, they don't put headsets on to do that, they go to community meetings and give us up like a drug habit.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You must have been one of his flunky church members that was hired. You know, the ones without education, common sense, or the basic skills to be a pco1 or 2 in the first place. I bet you spell rottweiler rockweilder or call a childs mother babiemama.

It is a known fact that anyone hired after 1999 is sorely lacking in basic English and grammar skills, whether these skills be spoken or written. Pre-2000 employees were all hired from those dispatch tests that were administered in the mid-1990s. Hiring practices since then have been a complete JOKE. Most of the events being sent to the zone for dispatch are a disgrace, both grammatically and for the single fact that most of those events are BS non-criminal police matters. When did 911 become all about "customer service"???? What a load a CRAP.

if you are going to generalize, please do so correctly - not everyone hired after 1999 is lacking basic skills, just most of them. I am far from perfect, but I can write a complete sentence almost every time. I can also spell the majority of animal breeds and car makes and models. I don't recall ever making up my own abbreviation. I can even spell at least 80% of the city street names correctly.
As for the non-criminal BS events, the majority of those cannot be blamed on the call-takers.

we were all trained to "send the police no matter what better to be safe than sorry " .....we were also told that we were just to take the calls and dispatch them. its up to the officers to go out and handle the job or not....

Actually we were not trained to always send the police no matter what. If you remember the list of "mandatory arp" those jobs go to non-emergency/arp, Pay attention, the more know about your job the better.
