Congratulations OEMC Supervisors
It's official. Officially official that is. The SPCOs are now Teamsters. Congratulations to them and to those spcos who really pushed hard to acheive that--Blogmaster knows that some of you worked harder, risked more, and put yourselves out there more for this than others, even though ALL of the SPCOs will reap the benefits and the pay and you deserve the credit for that.
Shame on the city and on upper management at OEMC. Shame on them for treating the spcos so badly to begin with that they felt compelled to unionize (with less than 20 spcos, it was relatively easy to LISTEN to their concerns, to HEAR their issues, and make the right calls without alot of outside interference)and shame on the city for fighting this so hard, using up taxpayer money and resources on a fight they could not win, especially AFTER the labor board ruled against them. But then, Blogmaster understands that with other peoples money to suck up, the city has no incentive to do the right thing.
Now the hard work begins. Crafting a contract from scratch and forcing the city to abide by it. Welcome to our world and it ain't pretty. Blogmaster wishes the negotiating teams luck: they will need it.

Does teamsters have room for 300 more?
Hey who did they talk too, can we get the number, cause our union is a JOKE
A message to all the supervisors:
Congratulations to you!! Special kudos to CW who did so much of the leg work and shouldered much of the aggravation during the process.
In recent days, your performance as supervisors has been slandered on this blog by a pitiful few who have NO IDEA of the stress and intricacies your job entails. 99% of us on the ops floor know how difficult YOUR job is, having to deal with not only 300 different levels of PCO maturity (or lack thereof) on a daily basis, but also having to deal with the suits on the 4th floor that try to micromanage our operation while possessing precious LITTLE knowledge of how our day-to-day operations work. It is HARD being stuck in the middle. The majority of us respect your efforts, and we think you are great people. Please don't be disillusioned by the whining, immature comments of the select few.
Good job, union brothers and sisters!!
Off Topic: What does the term "banging" as in "They're banging you on the radio" come from on the radio.
Can someone please answer this so I can go on with my life. Signed a grateful P.O.

To above poster:
Same place as where y'all calling us "squad" on the radio.
I for one, cringe when an officer the same sex as me asks me if I was "banging" them.
By the way, if you didnt know, anybody shorted on OT on the last check, log onto your bank account, and check your direct deposit. It seems to have been corrected.
When I was a young dispatcher and worked in the suburbs, occasionally I would answer calls as part of my duties. One night a Chicago detective called and asked " is your dick in?" I hung up thinking it was an obscene phone call!!!!!!
That's funny!!!
The majority of the MALE SPCO's are fine---do your work, don't take thousands of breaks, they leave you alone. The female SPCO's, ESPECIALLY the ones on DAYS? Fuhgeddaboudit! Most of them have a butt for a face & are angry about it, so they decide to take it out on the world!
