Where does the money go?

Segways.
Fine, we understand that "Emergency Management" is allegedly funded with "Homeland Security" money, or what have you. But can anyone give us a legitimate reason why TMA people are riding around on segways? Or why the Operations Center is so wonderfully and yet we're still sitting at the same old out-of-date consoles that OEMC can't even get parts for because they're so outdated? Can we even get a cleaning? We're tired of choking on the dust that blows from within the consoles every time we turn on the fans on the consoles. We're just about as tired of breathing the same "corroded" air since ventilation leaves much to be desired (thanks to architects/designers who thought it would be a great idea to have no opening windows and just about as many outside air intake/exhaust vents).
We think the city is doing a fine job of proving to us that we (911 Operations) are the least important part of the 911 Center.

Does anyone know where the money from the feds went for us to buy a decent fireboat????
But I thought Mayor Dilly said that our great emergency communication center was a big reason Chicago would get the 2016 olympics. You mean he lied to us. I'm shocked, shocked, I tell you.
See those pretty and useless flower pots out your window? Thats were the money went
Because it's Chicago and the dilapidated equipment filled with grime is every where not just at OEMC. That might make you feel less neglected who knows why the issues are never addressed. Cut backs, cut backs abound, contracts ends and parts go with it but you can still be proud. The bldg does look impressive. : ) : (
remind me to quit my job before 2016 if chicago wins the bid for the olympics. we think its chaos now, the city and all its leaders will have NO CLUE if they have to run something as huge as that.
How about the Gnats that are flying around all over the operations floor?
Gnats are horrible. WTF red spider mites and now gnats. I want bats
we work in a cave, it's dark and damp, let them eat the gnats.
There is some new and up to date equipment on the 3rd floor, we just dont get to use it. Its in the OC and the JOC and lets not forget all those OEMC suv's all those useless people on the 2nd and 4th floor drive around the city in. Maybe at the next picnic they say is for us, we can take turns riding on the segway,we have seen tma supervisors riding on thur out the building
