We know we have neglected our posts of late,

So don't bother writing to state the obvious.

Let us first comment on some goings on at the OEMC this past month, shall we? We hear negotiations are in progress. Dare we expect something GOOD to come from these proceedings?

We have been informed, but have not actually SEEN, any of the unions requests nor the city counterproposals and vice versa. Is this because the union has no concrete strategy for comprehensive long term negotiations (our educated guess) or for other reasons such as their proposals are so weak as to incite immediate anger among the rank and file? Just asking.

The "final" seniority list has been posted, after the last "final" seniority list was deemed incorrect. Does anyone really believe there aren't any errors in this one too? And can someone please advise us how a certain employee, not seen at OEMC for YEARS, is still listed w his/her class and issued a seniority number despite the contract which specifically states seniority stops accruing after 12 months?

Second, today is Halloween which, along w/ New Year's Eve and the 3rd/4th of July, is one of the busiest days of the year. PCOS best be EXTRA careful as we can remember that some of the highest profile incidents (and most nonsense discipline) seem to result from these days. Any reports from the front lines will be appreciated.
